Closure &
Relocation of Swanland GP surgery
If you are a patient
at the Swanland Surgery, or you know someone who is, be
aware that a consultation is now ongoing with the proposal
being to close the surgery and relocate it to opposite
the Spire Hospital in Lowfield Road, Anlaby. For further
details see
http://www.willerbysurgery.com/Surgery-Premises.html.
It
should be noted that PATIENTS ARE NOT BEING CONTACTED
individually about this.
If you were unable
to attend the consultation event you can still make your
views known to the GPs by emailing
feedback@willerbysurgery.com or by downloading and
completing the feedback form available at www.willerbysurgery.com/Surgery-Premises.html.
Please send a
copy of your email to our ward councillors via julie@southhunsleyward.info
and our MP david.davis.mp@parliament.ukdavid.davis.mp@parliament.uk
Ward Councillor Julie Abraham
recorded the views of some of those attending as they
left the Hall. Many saw the move it as inevitable and
had some advantages but constructive suggestions included:
Retention of some form of consulting room within the village,
possibly within the pharmacy (which many thought its existence
might be threatened).
Provision of some
form of transport possibly on a voluntary basis (the proposed
location is not in central Anlaby but a good 10 minute
walk away). Many people had no form of personal transport.
It should be realised
that the NHS and doctors are not regulated by ERYC or
the Parish Councils although our Ward Councillors will
strive to represent your views. The regulating body is
the Quality Care Commission
(CQC).

world, from booking holidays, to accessing learning, checking

books – the digital world opens a lot of doors to
information and opportunities, and potentially great savings
of both time and money. If you are reading this you probably
know the basics but if you know someone who might benefit
from a short introduction suggest they go along to one
of these:

Swanland Library, Wednesdays 18 April, 23 May & 27
June, from 9 - 11am

part they hope to save money on their energy bills. You
might also be interested in joining! The more participants,
the bigger our negotiating power.
So
why not register as well and you’ll receive a personal
offer two weeks after the auction has taken place. It’s
free to join, there’s no obligation to switch and
